Loo-Tsohj Po‑Jehb | a stone hearth
volcanic rock designed as an infrared heater for boiling water & maintaining heat.
the journey to refining tea is a vast & ever deepening voyage into the correlative workings of our natural world.
one of the greatest steps through this valley of understanding resides in water.
without quality water, quality tea will not find the space to breathe. water will be informed most specifically by the initial quality of its source, the way it is heated and the vessels it meets.
when it comes to heating water, how it is heated will greatly impact the texture and liveliness of the water, which in turn will inform how tea will come alive. heat is the quintessential necessity when it comes to brewing tea. without consistent heat, we will not have consistent tea. without deep heat, we will not have deep tea. this relates especially to its qi and how it is able to move through the body.
behind using charcoal, infrared heat is the most ideal and efficient way. it produces a deep, permeating heat, rather quickly too, without flattening, restructuring and compromising the water’s qi as induction kettles will do.
the intersectionality of nature will always be our greatest teacher in tea, and when we look towards the prospect of using infrared heat to heat our water, we muse upon the symbiotic relationship between sun and ocean. how deep its bond must be with such vasts of time & space within one another’s company.
I’m dearly excited to share these new infrared stoves I’ve been designing for some time now.
these are 220v stoves with five temperature settings and a timer to assist you in bringing the most out of your water while maintaining a fluent, graceful space for tea.
a power adaptor is required due from type a - your respective country‘s plug type.
*kettle is not included
