a 2023 sheng pu’er tea that comes from truly ancient tree material. It is a blend of material from Huong Su Phi, Ha Giang and Gaoshan, Yiwu- meticulously blended to create a younger sheng that is suitable to drink at this age, or store away for aeons to come.
this tea is produced by my teachers huong and yen, two deep devotees of the middle way, producing tea in accordance to the way of the indigenous red dzao people.
it is perhaps one of my proudest teas to share, for trust and love I hold for the land these trees grow, the families that have picked these leaves and these two who have produced it. even before we discuss the utterly brilliant quality of the raw material, these sentiments alone make this truly deep tea. tea medicine.
when we daydream of tea and the delicate yet powerful holding of its way, this is what I turn to cast the most vibrant reflection of that very nature.
it is herbaceous, complex and spritely. its bite is sincere for its age & its nuance is rich and everblooming.
this is a tea to hold onto for a lifetime
but all the most reverent to drink now
